If according to astrology a particular person has some doshas then he does rituals or poojas to minimize the effects, but what should a devotee do and how is he affected by these doshas, if any?

By bhakti all karmas are removed so nothing really has to be done. if one wants to take remedial measures astrologically then worship of the avataras representing the planets is recommended over worship of devatas.
